To help everyone keep up to date on the new candidates that have put up their hand for the October council elections we have compiled a list. (in alphabetical order) If you want to find out more about them follow the links to their social media.
As we get closer to the elections please make sure you check who candidates are giving their preferences too, we want to have fresh faces at the Council table not ones who get in because of the preference deals they make.

.
The last four years have shown us that Councillors need to be prepared for everything. No Councillor was asked how they would respond to a pandemic, to the sacking of a CEO, to backroom deals on who should be Mayor. We have come to realise that many of the issues that will arise over the next four years are unknown and unknowable.

I have been in business here in Liebig Street since 1972 (our family business since 1932) and it is of grave concern to me to see the CBD going backwards after having $18 million spent of the Liebig Street renewal in 2017. I believe a city is judged on how buoyant and active its CBD is and Warrnambool’s CBD has become shameful through high Info Technology Parking Ticket Machines, parking fines, and traffic congestion.

“I decided to run for the Warrnambool City Council because I share the apparent general unease of residents and ratepayers of Warrnambool with the current WCC with its lack of transparent and accountable decision making in certain areas. We all deserve the best level of governance ability and community representation. We need Councillors capable of delivering policies, planning, financial records and strategic planning that is truly representative, coherent, transparent and accountable. If elected as a Councillor, I am well prepared to represent you.

The current health and economic climate presents many challenges for the City of Warrnambool and its residents. We need council representatives that will be ready to work with each other and all tiers of Government to assist with the City of Warrnambool’s recovery. If elected I will be a strong, open minded and balanced advocate for the City of Warrnambool.
Any candidates who do not appear in the list have been removed at their request.
